On the first day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family….tested out their skating abilities
and welcomed the return of our elf-on-the-shelf, Harry
On the second day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…went to a cookie exchange with Ava and Callie
and started watching tons of Christmas movies
On the third day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…enjoyed the ballet performances by the little and big girlies
On the fourth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…visited with the real Santa Claus and sat right on his knee
On the fifth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…tried its best at gingerbread houses
and an art class hand-made nativity
On the sixth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…set to work decorating our lovely tree
On the seventh day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…celebrated with fun school parties
On the eighth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…had a blast wearing to kindergarten their favorite jammies
On the ninth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…enjoyed dinner plans and holiday parties
On the tenth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…took in the Highland Park lights thanks to a carriage and two horsies
On the eleventh day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…wrote out Xmas lists and prepared with milk and cookies
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family…went to Christmas Eve mass,
then spent the evening with friends who feel like family
Now...how about that awesome version of "The 12 Days of Chrismas"!!!  ;)

After visions of sugar plums danced through the girls' heads,
and not enough sleep danced through the elves' (mom and dad) heads,
at long last, Christmas morning had arrived.
It was just as all four of us had hoped for -
filled with excitement, love and thankfulness.
Alexis and Ryleigh embody the very definition of Christmas spirit right now…
and we hope they always will.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

A Ballerina Birthday

Ryleigh-

Today is your 3rd birthday!
Our sweet, silly, snuggly, shy little girl is turning into a big girl.
And over the weekend, we celebrated in the perfect way -
with a pretty, pink ballerina birthday party.
You and your friends decorated princess crowns,
then went into the studio to practice your pointes, your plies and your leaps.
At one point, you were feeling a little bit shy,
so your daddy came to your rescue,
dancing by your side and showing off his sweet arabesque skills.
You and all your buddies just loved this!
Leaping over Rudolph was also a big hit
You did not like being the center of attention as we sang
"Happy Birthday",
but you sure were pleased as punch to dig into that cupcake.
The party was practically perfect in every way.
Happy Birthday to our newly minted 3 year old…
we all just love you to pieces!!!
