The 12 Days of Christmas
Bringing back an oldie but goodie...
On the first day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
got into the Xmas spirit at the town's annual holiday party
On the second day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
took part in the Grapevine parade of lights
on a float just for daughters and their daddies (Indian Princesses)
On the third day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
scoured the area looking for the perfect live tree
On the fourth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
was invited to the cutest little gingerbread decorating party
On the fifth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
watched a bunch of sweet elves tap around
as happily as could be
On the sixth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
continued the daily race to the mailbox
to see "who could it be?!"
On the seventh day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
paid a visit to the now beloved seasonal authority
On the eighth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
witnessed a marching band lead Santa
straight into a neighborhood holiday party
On the ninth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
took part in The Polar Express…
the traditional first grade class party
On the tenth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
spent a girls' day in Fort Worth carrying on
the tradition of The Nutcracker - what a special memory
On the eleventh day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
drove around town looking at all the holiday lights,
then enjoyed time with other mommies and daddies
And on the twelfth day of Christmas,
the Hamilton family:
started a new tradition with a cookie exchange
followed by festive caroling for all to hear and see

Holiday Magic
It was a pretty magical morning here on Sunday,
when we celebrated Ryleigh's birthday
with a Christmas-themed party.
The kiddos got to work decorating their own gingerbread cookies,
then a very special visitor popped in to join the fun.
"His eyes - how they twinkled!
His dimples: how merry.
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,"
and he even jingled when he walked...
which he did complete with his own Santa walking stick.
Every single child was in awe as he headed over to his chair.
He read "Twas the Night Before Christmas"
to his audience,
then invited them up one by one to sit on his knee.
The care and attention he gave to everyone
made it all the more special.
What a sweet moment!
We took pictures of each kiddo on Santa's lap
and then created ornaments with the photos
for them to hang on their Christmas trees.
Then, Santa joined the party guests
as they sang "Happy Birthday" to Ryleigh
and enjoyed hot cocoa, snowman cookies
and Christmas cupcakes.
As he was leaving,
Ryleigh raced after him to ask where his reindeer were.
He assured her they were resting up at the North Pole
but that they'd be visiting her very soon,
on Christmas Eve.
It was such a sweet moment for our birthday girl!
Afterwards, the kids all played together in the playroom.
What a magical morning for our almost 4 year old.
