This little sweetie is getting her ear tubes on Thursday

My friends assure me that it's a very quick and easy procedure.
Hope it's much harder on her momma then on her!

Cousins take 2

It had been way too long since we'd seen the Hanks cousins,
so the girls and I made a quick trip to Jersey last weekend for a visit.
As always, Lexi had herself a ball following Matt and Cece around all day.
I am confident she wishes she was their younger sister.

Ry loved everyone's company too, except for Ozzie the dog.
She clung to me for dear life and shot backwards glances,
making sure the little guy hadn't come any closer.
Girlfriend is apparently quite scared of dogs these days,
as it happened again on a playdate this week.
But she sure does love her aunt

As for me,
I'm left wondering how on Earth my nephew is 15...
and how my niece is old enough for her first boyfriend!
Time flies when you're having fun!

Cousins

We were so happy to get a visit from Uncle John, Aunt Kate
and Cousin Emma this weekend!
It was really sweet to watch the three girls play together.
Alexis/Lexi is not the easiest name for a two year old to pronounce,
so we all gave Emma some slack as she went around calling her big cousin Ryleigh.

For years, I gave my mom the hardest time whenever she'd call me by my sister's name.
Now that I have two daughters myself,
I fully admit that I sometimes make the same mistake.
So far, they both seem to be letting it slide :)

Free time

Finding it a bit hard to keep up with the blog these days.
My free time right now is spent following around a little monkey
whose favorite activities include:
lunging into the toilet water
rearranging the spices in our pantry
emptying the bathroom garbage cans onto the floor
digging in the mud outside
and bouncing around on her big sister's chair
