We're renting a house with good friends and their two children. So, Nantucket, here we come! And, when I was there as a child, there was no such thing as the internet, blogging or Facebook. I think that's exactly the mindset we'll embrace for the next week. Just family, friends and fun for us, so have a great start to August, and we'll chat when we return home.

Nantucket Bound!
We're hitting the road tonight - bound for a week in Nantucket! I grew up going there nearly every summer as a little girl. One year during college Vic even joined my family for the weekend (with orange hair, ask him about it sometime). Neither of us have been back to the island in almost a decade, so we can't wait to get there and show Alexis around.

ooh, have so much fun! can't wait for beach baby pics!
in answer to your questions:
1. i highly recommend the mounted gate at the top of the stairs. we had ours professionally installed by a babyproofing service and it was definitely worth it.
2. ah, caribbean hotspots. again, highly recommend turks & caicos as you could probably tell from the blog posts. we also LOVED anguilla. stayed at the cuisinart. it was heavenly. similar to tci in the remote, not-too-touristy feel of the island, which we like. beaches are amazing!!!! we also went to nevis on our babymoon before syd was born. nevis was great, but more so because we were at the four seasons and pampered beyond belief. beaches aren't as picturesque, but still pretty. the island is very private and quaint, more lush and mountainous than the anguilla or tci. i'd go back to tci or anguilla before nevis though. hand's down. happy anniversary trip planning!!!
enjoy Nantucket, can remember our summers there and it seems soooooo long ago:)
