You were born at 2:11 am, exactly one year ago! Mommy's water broke here at home, and just six and a half hours later we were holding you in our arms.
Deciding not to find out your gender until your big arrival (one day you'll see that the best things in life are always worth the wait), we - well, really more your daddy - were a little bit surprised yet instantly smitten with our beautiful baby girl!
And smitten we remain - though that word hardly explains the love and pride we feel for you. For someone who likes to talk and to write, I'm not certain I even have the words this time around.
So for this very special day, and this very special post, I think a favorite book that we received from your Great Uncle Frank and Great Aunt Donna says it best. "For never before in story or rhyme has the world ever known a you, my friend, and it never will, not ever again...Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn on the wonderful, marvelous night you were born."
In one year you have made us laugh and cry, made our house a home, made our days full, made us remember that the simplest moments are often the sweetest. You have made our family just that - a family. And we could not love you more. Once upon a time we dreamed of you. And now....all our dreams are for you.
