19 Months

Alexis-

Cute and curious, silly and sweet and sneaky and smart, active yet gentle, independent but loving, an attention seeker who's timid at times, a great sharer who delights in watching older kids, a Daddy's girl, an outdoor girl who likes to run, climb, stomp and twirl, a block building, puzzle solving, shape sorting engineer, that's just a little snapshot of the 19-month you. So without further adieu, a few (well, actually QUITE a few) recent photos of our not-so-little girl.
You run and run and run these days,
and you still love playing hide and seek.
You like going down the stairs by yourself now -
often holding our hand for just a little bit of help.
Did I mention that you're awfully sweet?
I see this sight 482 times per day.
You ALWAYS want to go outside.
You try and open every door by yourself now,
and when we're downstairs, you go running straight for your shoes.
As soon as we get into the garage,
you go to your sidewalk chalk and repeat "Peas"
(for please) until we oblige.
Your new swingset has been a big hit.
You usually insist that mommy rides on the swing next to yours.
Fine by me, I too, loved my swingset growing up.
See those shovels and the ball in your hand?
Well, I see something similar to that 482 times a day also.
You always have to be holding something.
Not sure why, but you love your little possessions.
Let's go Mets go
Between Daddy, Grandpa and John,
you have no choice but to root for David Wright, Santana and the boys
You seem pretty happy to be a Mets fan though,
so all is good.
Daddy can't wait until you're old enough for your first trip to Citi Field.
Lately, you love taking a shower.
You sneak in every chance you get,
and you always try to drink the water.
Upon your insistence, we're logging serious miles
with the red wagon these days.
All the neighbors are used to seeing you
and saying hello during our evening strolls.
Those curls!
Usually, just the ends of your hair have some curl to them.
But on humid days, this is what happens.
We're not quite sure where they came from,
but they could not be any more adorable!
Melts our hearts.
This is your new "Cheese" face
And as I was taking this shot, you were saying "no more, no more".
Sigh.
Your eyes light up when you see a lollipop.
The same things happens when we treat you to ice cream sherbert.
Then again, your eyes light up when you see pretty much any kind of food.
Fussy eater? Not so much.
Alexis, you are the very best part of each and every day.
Thank you for being you.
Happy 19 Months!

With love,
Mommy and Daddy

Huge update for 19 months. What will the 2 year mark look like? Can Erin top this? I DON'T KNOW.
