Ryleigh's Turn

This Wednesday was Ryleigh's first time at Mother's Day Out.
It's a preschool/babysitting program for children under 2 years old.
The day runs from 9:15-2:15, and it includes snack, lunch, playground time,
circle time, and nap time.
After seeing her big sister go off to school each day,
our Ryleigh must have been ready for her own chance
to have some fun with other kiddos.
She walked right into the school all by herself,
and went right into one of her teacher's arms,
then straight over to the bubbles.
No tears, no cries for "mama", no looking back.
I was a little bit surprised, but of course happy that she was happy.
What came as no surprise was the fact that she didn't sleep a wink.
The closest she came was squeezing her eyes shut super tight for a few seconds
when they reminded her again and again that it was time to go night night.
She did however fall asleep instantly on the drive home and slept until 4:30!
Her teachers report that she had a great day,
and she happily waved and said goodbye to them and a little boy
from class on her way out.
Hope it's the start of a great year for her and a great first experience at "school"!
