A Weekend in Hill Country

Last weekend, we headed to Austin for a change in scenery.
Our destination was the Hyatt Lost Pines resort in hill country.
Despite a minor setback (in the way of a terrible highway accident
that re-routed us through miles and miles and even more miles of Texas farmland),
we made it there on Friday and had a wonderful weekend.

The girls were able to pet horses, ride on a longhorn and enjoy s'mores they baked themselves.
We went on several family bike rides through the resort grounds,
and enjoyed lots of time at the pool, lazy river and water slide.
Every night, the hotel plays a movie outdoors under the stars -
this particular weekend the selection was Frozen, much to Lexi's delight.
And the following evening, while Ryleigh and Emily slept for their babysitters,
Lexi took part in the kids' camp as the adults went out for dinner.

It was a fun adventure for our family and a neat way to see more of this great state.
We will surely be back, Lost Pines.
