One of the highlights was visiting the beach with our extended family!
While we were home in NJ,
we made a trip to the Jersey Shore for some much needed beach time.
Aunt Wendy and Uncle Carl have a beautiful home in Brielle,
so we took advantage of their ocean proximity for a few fun days.
Adrienne and Eric happened to be vacationing in the town over,
so our families got the chance to catch up briefly one afternoon
Our weekend included time at their pool club, a visit to the Manasquan
boardwalk and beach, a day spent tubing on their boat
a big family dinner at their house along with my parents
and bike riding plus paddle boarding for Wendy, Courtney and myself.
The girls always have the very best time with their cousins,
and while Lexi, especially, thought tubing was just about the coolest thing ever,
even her mom and dad got in on the action.
Now that we are landlocked, hours from the closest real beach,
getting to experience the Atlantic ocean each summer means so much to us.
There's nothing quite like salty sea water, sand between your toes
and beautiful ocean sunsets.
The girls spent several happy hours collecting seashells, feeding the seagulls
and chasing in the waves. They could have stayed all night long.
We plan to return for a longer stay next year, and we can't wait!
