Texas Bluebonnets

The girls and I love
(and I mean really love) bluebonnets.
They are the state flower
and a huge deal around here.
Urban legend says you are not allowed to pick them.
They only bloom for three weeks each spring.
Then, just as quickly as they appear -
on the side of the highway,
in fields and hills in every direction,
growing as wildflowers even at the airport,
they disappear with no warning.
Every time we see them out the car window we cheer.
And so, we decided to join some friends
for a quick bluebonnet mini session
with our favorite photographer.
In ten minutes' time,
she captured these wonderful photos.
Between the beautiful setting
and those sweet, happy smiles,
what a treasure they are!
