Team Jedi

Ryleigh was on her very first team this spring-
the Team Jedi soccer team.

Her best buddies Phoebe and Harper joined her,
along with three boys their age.
Every league has to have a Bad News Bears team,
and we proudly wore that title all season.
In all fairness,
they pulled it together the very last game
and actually scored a few goals.
Every parent on our side cheered like mad.

The girls were just very timid
against more aggressive opponents
and hesitant to get into the mix,
especially when it came to playing against boys.
Ryleigh really enjoyed herself during practice,
and she kicked the ball a few times each game,
but she was much more content to stand back
and watch others do the work.

She was happy to be out there,
as long as we encouraged her and cheered for her.
She was her happiest, however,
when it came time for post-game snacks.

While it might not have been a winning season -
by any stretch of the imagination,
it was great for us all to finally be watching HER
each weekend and for her to have lots of fun with friends.
