Whenever people hear that we've moved
to Southlake from the Northeast,
they ask whether we like it here
and whether it's really different.
I always say yes to both.
There are a number of things we miss
about life in Connecticut,
and certainly many people we greatly miss,
but I can say without hesitation
that all four of us are really happy in Texas.
The warmer climate, the pace of life,
the outdoor living,
and all the friends we've made top the list.
Also up there is the strong sense of
community and school/town spirit.
"Friday night lights" is very real here
and very fun.
The tailgates are quite impressive,
and the games never disappoint.
From the sea of green, to the Carroll Dragon
pride, to the Emerald Belles and of course
the nationally ranked football program,
it's great fun for the whole family every fall.
