The Pumpkin Patch

Nothing says Fall like a trip to the pumpkin patch.
So on a bright Sunday morning, off we went to Silverman's Farm.

First up was the Petting Zoo.
We saw a cautious side of you here, Alexis.
At first, you did not want to be close to those animals.
You needed some time to warm up to them.
Daddy had to hold you AND feed the goats.
After a few minutes though, you got a little more confident, became a little more brave.
You helped feed the deer.
You even tried to feed the llamas all by yourself (sadly, they were not interested).
And, you loved the little pink pigs, asleep in their hut.
And then it was time to head over to the pumpkin patch.
You are currently a little obsessed with pumpkins.
You point out every pumpkin we drive by - counting out loud how many you see on the steps.
You show me every pumpkin we walk by - telling me whether they are big or little, orange or white.
When we go on playdates, you make a big fuss over your friends' pumpkins.
So, it was not a big surprise that you were psyched to check out Silverman's finest.
You made sure we knew which ones were "daddy' pumpkins, "mommy" pumpkins and little "baby" pumpkins.
You grabbed them by the stems to inspect them and tried with all your might to lift some of the giant ones.
In our opinion, you were the cutest pumpkin in the whole patch.

We picked out three - one for each of us.
And, we even got one for free (daddy guessed its weight correctly).
And after lugging them back to the car,
and then finding three more for our neighbors and lugging those back to the car,
our sweetest pumpkin got a ride on her Dad's shoulders.
We are now at war with the squirrels
who have already started munching on the pumpkins.
But it makes no difference to you.
You point them out with such excitement...
every single time we pull up the driveway :)

Dear Anonymous posters:

You are funny.
You made me laugh.
And you'll be happy to know that neither Vic nor Alexis will be subjected to the 30-day Cross Fit
Challenge :)

I can only take credit for the 2nd anonymous post. Lexi sure looks like she is ready for Halloween and we'll be sending her some spooky wishes this week:+)
