Summer has halfway passed us by.
But, with Lexi heading off to full day kindergarten, and Ryleigh enrolled
in the three day 2s this fall, we are doing our best to ensure that these summer days
are happy and fun and full.
We have been busy with summer camps, busy swimming and soaking up the sun,
busy making memories with our buddies and simply just enjoying family time.
The girls are becoming the best of friends (most of the time) right before our eyes -
that in itself is pretty darn awesome.
Here is a snapshot from the first half of our summer.
The last day of preschool warranted something pretty special.
So, several of Lexi's best buddies came over for an evening of freeze tag,
Frozen sing alongs, movies and popcorn.
And then, we hosted Ava for our very first sleepover party.
When I went in to check on the girls, I found them like this.
Lexi had climbed down from her bed and was fast asleep next to her bestie.
They slept the whole night through!
A visit to the zoo before it got too hot
These kiddos had a great time
A visit to the Arboretum
The new children's garden and playground is always a hit
Good minds think alike
First pony ride
Kicking off summer at the Cocotos' house
Despite the sad faces from her little buddies,
Ryleigh surprised us all and did NOT push even a single time
Raspberry picking/eating
Can you tell someone is desperate to keep up with the big kids?
Her first movie - How to Tame Your Dragon 2
She didn't love it, but she didn't hate it either
Proud owner of her very first library card
We returned home with several Fancy Nancy's
Who doesn't love Steel City Pops
Gluten free, dye free, and still delicious
Getting our waterpark on
Watching the fireworks with some of our favorites
Ryleigh was not wanting to participate in the photo op
Summer birthday parties are the best,
especially when they mean pool parties and funny magic shows
Last minute fishing trip at White Rock Lake
We tried luring them in with bacon and chicken nuggets
Not surprisingly, we didn't catch anything, and it got so hot, that we gave up trying
Still a fun adventure though
