It snowed here in Texas a few weeks ago.
Well, kind of.
We didn't get even a snowflake last year,
so this dusting was cause for huge excitement -
especially because it happened on a Friday.
Teachers let happy kiddos race to the window
for a firsthand look.
Ryleigh was all things thrilled to point outthe little piles of white.
Lexi made the most of it
and happily threw a handfull all over herself,
then got to work building the world's smallest snowman.
She then collected a bowl-ful (yes, for real)
and took it over to our neighbors…
ya know, just in case there wasn't any in their yard.
The kids loved throwing snowballs at each other.
And then we saw which of our girls
is still a North-easterner at heart.
Ryleigh raced right back inside for a fire and hot cocoa,
while Lexi and Sienna stayed out there for close to two hours.
I wish it had been a lot more for all the kids.
We have a great sleigh riding hill
right across the street at the middle school.
But, we'll take what we can get around here
and make the most of every last snowflake!
And a few days later,
when it turned 70
and we were bike riding in short sleeves…
well, we'll make the most of that too.

We're waiting for some snow here up north...no snow days to speak of yet:( Glad the girls had a little winter fun in Texas!
